You did not see me Looking from the shade When a wind Cast a cattail To dip its head And splash back Like a plucked string Attached To some invisible line A spider's thread Hung down from a cloud That only showed If you twisted your head Slightly to the left While cocking your eyes Up, up, away Forever in a day Between The dock and shore Until the breeze Tickled your ear And dad Called you to the boat.
